This is how the house looked right before we went on vacation. For those of you who follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you've seen this one before. This was when the driveway was just poured and the bricks and drywall had been delivered. I was going a little nuts because the color of the brick looked wrong, but turns out it is perfect.
Read after the jump to see the progress in the week while we were gone!
And here is the house that we came home to! Driveway dry, bricks up and stucco on. It looks like a real house from the outside now! The stucco is just a base coat for now (not the color it will be), but the brick and shutters are done!
We are so unbelievably happy with the brick color. We knew we loved it, but it just looks so pretty up with all the different colors running through it.
Close-up of our brick-- "Rusty."
Another shot of the brick and stucco and guest room window.
And here, drumroll please, is the inside of our house! This was the most exciting thing to come home to-- Walls! The walls are all up and spots for the lights and outlets are all cut out. At this point, everything to be done during the drywall phase (hanging drywall, adhering it, spraying texture, etc) looks done. It looks so much bigger now for some reason with the walls all in!
View of the front door from the back door with drywall all in.
Kitchen up close! Ready for some cabinets :)
They also put the vinyl siding on the back of the house, as well.
Also, doesn't the LA sky look unreal? No filters, no nothing, this is just how it is here. Love it!
At this point, the exterior is nearly ready to go. We drove by today (Monday) and the guys were working on putting the shape detail around the window on the front of the house and the door frame. Once that is done, they will paint the stucco the color we chose, and then the outside will be done until garage lights go up.
I also took a quick (less than 3 minute) video tour to give ya'll another way to see the work that's happened.
We will post more updates as more stuff happens!
