It was an exciting day at the house today. I stopped by in between some errands, around 10:30 am, and was able to meet the people putting in our cabinets. They said it would take them 3 hours to install all of our cabinets ( only three!!) and that they would likely do three houses today. Can you imagine? That just seems so fast to me. I thanked them profusely and left them to it. Mike and I went back after he got home from work to see the results of all of their hard work!

This is the result of yesterday's work: beautiful details around the window and door frame. Now, we're just waiting on the stucco to be painted.
Master bathroom cabinets.
Desk in the study! So amazing to have the built-in desk.
Lonely little cabinet in the 2nd bathroom. This room is dark and my flash isn't super strong, but you get the idea.
The cabinet for our "mudroom." I had totally forgotten about this one!
And what ya'll were waiting for-- KITCHEN cabinets! Here's a shot from the living room.
Here's a shot from the dining room. I think the color is more true-to-life in this one. The color is a rich dark brown.. I think they call it "mocha." I am in love. They do not do hardware on the cabinets, so that will be a potential project for my "Honey Hugh list" (for when Mike's dad, Hugh, comes to visit us after we move in-- I thought that was clever!) :)
Interior doors & trim ready to be installed!
So according to the DSLD video, the next thing to be done is painting! We couldn't figure out why they don't paint before they install the cabinets, but I suppose it's less work? Anyway, that will likely happen tomorrow or Thursday, and we will be back with updates once it's done!
