Surprise! Lots of updates!

Hi all!  So apparently we weren't locked out of the house for good-- we were only locked out for one night!  We went to a fundraiser event for the LSU libraries tonight called "Lager for Libraries" at the Tin Roof Brewery in Baton Rouge.  We were super excited, had a few glasses of beer, and before we knew it it was so hot that we had to leave!  We made it an hour, but we were wilting like flowers!  We weren't planning on stopping by the house, so we were just going to go straight home.  It was such a beautiful night though, that I suggested to Mike that we go anyway and that we could still look through the windows!

So we pulled up to the house and Mike went to the front door and said, "They put in the countertops!"  He walked away and was going over to the windows on the side of the house when I decided to try the front door, and lo and behold it was open!  So maybe they just locked the house last night because the appliances weren't installed.  Anyway, this is what we found when we went inside (warning: you are about to see LOTS of pictures of almost the exact same thing):

KITCHEN!! Our countertops went in, and our appliances are installed!  You can see the ceiling fan in the living room, too.

Another shot of the kitchen with the garbage disposal waiting to go in (the orange box on the counter).  We really are so happy with our choices, and I just kept saying to Mike, "Oh it's so pretty!"  Notice the undermount sink is in and the outlets/lightswitches are in too!

Kitchen/dining room. Not sure how long we'll keep the light that's for the dining room table, we'll see, but it's in nonetheless!  It looks like a real house!

View of the kitchen from the dining room.  You can see the recessed lights on the ceiling, too.

Hubs & the living room.

Another view of the kitchen.  I love it so much.  It's so pretty! I think in this pic you get a sense of how big it is-- it looks fairly small in photos but there is actually quite a bit of counterspace, and the island is very large.

Hubs checking out the attic space.

Our circuit box! Haha... it is so exciting but so dorky how excited we were over this.  We don't have power yet, but we should soon!

One last kitchen pic.  There are still some small details to install (like the support for the countertop and the faucet), but this is pretty much what it'll look like!

Light in the entryway!

We hope you enjoyed our surprise post! We didn't know we'd be able to get in, but we are so glad we were!  Now, we really just can't wait to move on in!
